We Tell the Stories That
Hold Time Together

Dickens Brothers began with a personal mission: to make a film about our father, not because he was famous, but because his impact was felt long after he was gone. In 2016, we interviewed nearly 40 people, weaving together an 80-minute film that didn’t just show his life; it made his presence still matter. That journey didn’t end with a documentary. It revealed a deeper truth:

We realized that what people really need isn’t content, it’s continuity.

We realized that what people really need isn’t content, it’s continuity.

Since then, we’ve worked with founders, families, and foundations to preserve stories in a way that:

  • keeps values and intent alive,
  • prevents meaning from fading,
  • and gives future generations a reference point they can actually use.

This is why we don’t make videos, we capture living memory.

Every project we touch is grounded in the belief that story is not decoration, but infrastructure for identity, memory, and decision-making.

How We Work

Our storytelling framework has been refined over years of documentary practice and is built on seven core pillars that reflect not only what happened, but why it mattered, and where it leads:
History, Passion, Process, Obstacles, Achievements, Impact, and Future.

We don’t just gather footage. We help families and institutions articulate what is worth preserving and what must be passed on so that legacy becomes continuity instead of fade.

Who We Serve

Founders

Preserving the intent behind what was built so the story continues with clarity.

Families

Ensuring values, memory, and meaning survive alongside whatever assets exist.

Foundations

Capturing the mission and purpose so organizations can stay true to origin as leadership evolves.

Why It Matters

When a story is preserved well:

  • Family members understand why things exist, not just what they are
  • Successors make decisions rooted in shared meaning
  • Foundations stay aligned with the vision that created them

Legacy becomes something living instead of fragmented

We believe that legacy is not about what you leave.
It’s about what lives after you and why.

OUR PROMISE

We listen before we shoot.
We observe before we edit.
We capture truth, not impressions.
We preserve meaning, not moments.

Because continuity is the thread through time that actually endures.
It’s the work of a lifetime, and the gift to the next.

MEET THE TEAM

Soren Dickens

Soren Dickens

Co-Founder of Dickens Brothers

I co-founded Dickens Brothers because I knew firsthand what discontinuity felt like. Our father passed away when we were kids, and the stories that should have connected us to him nearly disappeared. That experience drives everything we do, building the connective tissue between generations so no family has to piece together who they are from fragments and fading memories.

Co-Founder of Dickens Brothers

As Creative Director, I lead every project with a single principle: the family's truth comes first. My background in Clinical Psychology shapes how I approach interviews by creating the safety and depth required for families to share at their pace. The stories that surface aren't scripted or polished. They're real. And that authenticity is what makes a continuity film something a family returns to for generations.
